With its massive size and distinctive design, the Desert Eagle is among the most widely recognized handguns ever produced. It has been wielded by heroes and henchmen alike in practically every action film over the last decade making it a Hollywood icon of intimidating firepower. Chambered in the .50AE caliber round the mighty Desert Eagle would leave a gaping hole in anything unfortunate enough to be in its way.
KWC is offering this Desert Eagle which is the best value for money with its already installed full metal kit. As a fully licensed model, it bears realistic markings on the slide and the frame.
This airsoft replica weighs in at a hefty 1.2 kilos making it quite the boat anchor due to a wide array of metal parts to include a metal slide and barrel. The only main plastic part to be found on this pistol is its rubber grips that help gripping the pistol way more easier. As you can see, this pistol houses the 12 gram CO2 cartridge inside of a standard sized magazine so it retains its streamlined profile unlike the previous CO2 version which needed an oversized magazine to house the cartridge.
The pistol averages a healthy 320 FPS using a .2g BB and was effective out to 40 metres. Its hop-up is pretty aggressive and can cause .2g BBs to curve up. For this reason it's better using 0.25g BBs. Shooting this pistol is great fun because unlike other CO2 pistols which recoil with a sharp jab, the recoil of the Desert Eagle would be best described as a strong shove. If you don’t have a good grip when you squeeze off a round the inertia of the heavy slide recoiling will actually lift the muzzle of the pistol. This DE has the ability to shoot both in Semi and Full Auto. The Full Auto function will bring many smiles to the user's face, but bear in mind that it will consume much more gas than usual and it will empty its 22 round magazine in just 2 seconds.
The Desert Eagle is a large-framed gas-operated semi-automatic pistol designed by Magnum Research in the United States together with IMI in Israel. Over the past 25 years, MRI has been responsible for the design and development of the Desert Eagle pistol. The design was refined and the actual pistols were manufactured by Israel Military Industries until 1995, when MRI shifted the manufacturing contract to Saco Defense in Saco, Maine. In 1998, MRI moved manufacturing back to IMI, which later reorganized under the name Israel Weapon Industries. Both Saco and IMI/IWI were strictly contractors: all of the intellectual property, including patents, copyrights and trademarks, are the property of Magnum Research. Since 2009, the Desert Eagle Pistol has been produced in the United States at MRI’s Pillager, MN facility. Kahr Arms acquired Magnum Research in the middle of 2010. The Desert Eagle has been featured in roughly 500 motion pictures and TV films, along with several video games, considerably increasing its popularity and boosting sales.
