The WELL M4 RIS is the most affordable model to get introduced to the amazing world of Gas Blowback rifles. It follows the WA protocol in a much more lower price. The quality is not that lower though. The model features all the realistic parameters that make GBBs fun.
The model is a full metal construction. The Colt M4 type receiver is made out of aluminum, that makes the gun lightweight but sturdy. The model replicates the M4 CQBR carbine that was initially designed for CQB missions and utilizes a short 11.5 inches barrel. The stock tube, barrel, front sight post and flash hider are metal as well. The only non-metal parts are the stock and pistol grip. The LE type retractable stock can be adjusted in 6 different positions to the comfort of any user. The carry handle is removable and bears the rear sight. The handguard is a KAC type RIS system that offers a huge segment of Picatinny estate for the attachment of various accessories. The model bears two sling swivels, one on the stock and one on the front sight post.
The model utilizes an WA style Open Bolt mechanism. The charging handle is functional and it must be cocked prior to shooting. The heavy bolt makes a distinctive sound when cocked but when fired as well. When the gun runs out of ammo, the bolt locks to the rear to indicate that a fresh magazine needs to be inserted. When done, the player must push the functional bolt catch to send the bolt home. Both the BBs and the gas are stored in the metal magazine. Its capacity is 50 BBs that makes the gun ideal for simulation purposes. Depending on the Gas used the model may shoot anywhere from 300 to 450 FPS.
The package includes the M4 RIS, its magazine, a BB loader, sling, cleaning rod and the instructions manual.
The M4 carbine is a family of firearms that was derived from earlier carbine versions of the M16 rifle, which was in turn derived from the original AR-15 rifle that Eugene Stoner designed and ArmaLite made. The M4 is a shorter and lighter variant of the M16A2 assault rifle. It is a gas-operated, magazine-fed, selective fire, shoulder-fired weapon with a telescoping stock and 14.5 in (370 mm) barrel to ease close quarters combat. Like the rest of the M16 family, it fires the .223 caliber, or 5.56mm NATO round.
