HFC’s Cougar blow back pistol is compact, well balanced and will fit your hand like a glove. You may be surprised though as this otherwise refined little handgun has a very fiery temper.
Featuring a full metal frame, slide and barrel the Cougar is quite hefty for being the size of a Glock 19. The only plastic parts visible on this gun are the two checkered grip panels so it has the same metal content as a real firearm. All of the levers function just as they should and even the magazine release can be reversed for left handed operation without much difficulty. The slide mounted safety also doubles as a select fire switch.
The Cougar is a joy to shoot with a nice crisp blow back, remarkably good accuracy and range. Gas consumption is very low making it possible to fire over a full magazine on one charge of gas. The full metal magazine can carry 16 BBs and it also carries the gas used to utilize the pistol.
The Beretta 8000 (Cougar) series pistols are manufactured by Beretta of Italy. They first appeared on the market in 1994 as a more compact alternative to the full-sized Beretta 92 service pistol in order to offer a compromise between concealability, ease of carry, accuracy and firepower. It was originally developed for the .40 S&W cartridge, which was a new cartridge at the time. It was later also manufactured for other calibers, such as 9?19 mm, .357 SIG and .45 ACP. These pistols are suitable for use by police and for civilian self-defense.
