A&K is well known for its M249 models. The LR300 is an interesting twist and a very original gun to produce. The LR is an M4 based platform both in the real and the airsoft world. The only differences are the stock, grip and front set. Most of the gun is metal, like the receiver, stock, barrel, both front and rear sights, etc. The only plastic parts are the pistol grip and the handguard. The rear sight is detchable and adjustable. Under the sight, lies a full size Picatinny rail that allows the attachment of any optical device. The side folding stock is modelled after the FAL one. This design was the very first of its kind due to the model functioning on gas piston, like the HK416 later on. The model bears two QD sling swivels, one on the stock and one on the handguard. The flash hider is a Phantom style one.
The LR utilizes a reinforced version 2 gearbox. It is 100% compatible with version 2 aftermarket accessories and parts. Due to its premium quality internal parts, the model shoots at around 430 FPS. The model uses a mini type battery that is being located inside the handguard (Mini Tamiya plug). The CQBR size barrel is ideal for CQB games. The model uses M4 type magazines. it comes with a metal High capacity one that carries 450 BBs. The barrel bears the typical 14mm CCW threading to attach any kind of silencers or flash hiders.
The package includes the LR300, its magazine, battery and charger.
The LR 300 is an assault rifle based on the M4 Carbine, designed and manufactured by Z-M Weapons. One stated feature of the rifle is its 'diverted felt recoil' which helps prevent muzzle rise common to most other select-fire rifles and carbines. Also notable is the rifle's capability to use a fully folding skeletal stock. Most AR-15/M16 rifle variants have a thick, cylindrical recoil buffer tube that protrudes several inches straight back from the rear of the receiver, and the weapon cannot operate without it. This normally precludes the use of anything but fixed or telescoping stocks. The LR 300 gets around this problem in two ways - the bolt carrier is half the length of a standard AR-15 carrier. Secondly, the return spring for the bolt carrier is mounted forward of the receiver on the extended carrier key. LR-300MLs have flat top receivers with Weaver rails, allowing them to be used with multiple types of sights. The trigger, as well as the charging handle, magazine button, and hold open device, etc., are the same as the M16 and AR-15 rifles.
