A real beast of a modern military rucksack! 85 litres of carrying capacity, removeable day-pack side pouches, adjustable back length and tons of other clever features. We dare say that due to the superbly versatile design the Pathfinder a sure bet for just about anyone, no matter if it's peaceful hiking or military action that tickles your fancy. The Pathfinder is packed full of neat details, but due to the straightforward military design it still is simple, reliable and easy to use! All compartments are compressible using straps or drawcords. As an added bonus the generous PALS webbing makes it possible to attach just about anything you may need. The sturdy, well padded shoulder straps and hip belt guarantee a very comfortable carrying experience, but the real cherry on top is the fully adjustable back system!
The upper main compartment is covered by a drawcord throath, secured with a strap for extra security and covered with a large flap with excellent adjustments. Inside the upper main compartment are three open compartments for organizing your load. On top of the flap is a zippered compartment with hydration tube hole, mesh pouch for small items and a little hook for keys etc. The upper and lower main compartments are divided by a zippered floor panel. The lower main compartment is closed by a two-way zipper and secured with two straps. It can be compressed and the straps can be used to carry any large items by themselves on the outside. The removeable neoprene helmet carrier is a neat feature oriented for military use. The side pouches can be combined to form a daypack like the PLCE. Behind these side pouches are two compression straps on each side of the rucksack, these can also be used to carry long items such as axes.
The pack offers two comfortably reinforced carry handles. Very comfortably padded and shaped shoulder straps. The sternum strap comes with an emergency whistle. Rigid, very well padded hip belt with PALS webbing for attachment of small pouches.
The pack sits on a size-adjustable carrying system for medium to heavy loads. Two aluminium bars forming an inverted "V" plus two short fibreglass reinforced bars for additional support form the central static unit: the two fibreglass reinforced bars lead from the inner aluminium frame channels laterally into the hip wings. The dimensions and arrangement of these reinforced bars result in an excellent combination of efficient load transmission and system flexibility. The three-part ergonomically shaped hip strap consists of a central lumbar pad with a rubberised insert to prevent the rucksack from slipping, and two conically shaped hip wings. They have several layers of comfortable padding, are reinforced with a PE plate, and can easily be tightened and set using a deflected belt strap. The new technical back padding consists of a number of chambers, and is conically shaped to ensure the optimum position and contact with the rucksack. The load control straps can be attached in two different positions for the optimum adjustment. Soft, ergonomically shaped shoulder straps with height adjustment increase the level of comfort. The lid is also height adjustable.
