The South African Assault Vest was, is and will be the main choice of airsoft players all around the globe. No wonder, the priceis good, it offers loads of pockets and is exrtremely comfortable to wear. The SAAV is a proper good solution for carrying your stuff around all day long.
It is considered to be the very first modern tactical vest design. Introduced in the South African Defense Forces in 1983, it has seen use with the SAS in both Gulf Wars and it's very popular with the Parachute Regiment.
The vest is made out of 600D Polyester which is PVC coated. That makes it lightweight, rugged and water resistant. The lining is also Polyester but in a lighter weight of 210D and polyurethane coated. The internal part is constructed with rubberised mesh which adds to the stability and air circulation when worn.
The shoulders, back and waist area are padded for comfort. The vest is fully adjustable to the waist and shoulders and will fit almost every body type.
The vest is loaded with a huge number of pockets and pouches that will hold more than a day's worth of airsoft accessories. It features more or less the following:
Four large ammo pouches that will accomodate 8 x 5.56mm magazines (30 rnds).
2 Field Dressing or grenade pouches 2 smaller pouches to accomodate – smoke or mobile phone or feature as additional double mag pockets.
Slots for pencil flares or small tactical flashlights.
It has a slot on both the left and right vest parts for storing documents, maps, etc.
There are two large side pouches originally for the large SADF 2 litre water bottle but again it offers additional storage area.
Finally, there is a built-in narrow poch at the back for the SADF radio equipment but in the airsoft world is ideal for a hydration blader.
The Miltec SAAV vest is the ideal vest for the player who wishes to carry a lot of equipment, in an affordable, lightweight but rugged vest.
