The VFC SCAR-H is the latest and possibly the best replica of the SCAR currently on the market. The VFC SCAR-H SSR maintains many of the same features and controls as the M4/M16 series, so the transition for users is simple. In addition, the SCAR-H SSR has many improvements over the M4 and the M16. The lower receiver is constructed from sturdy polymers and aluminum to reduce weight. The receiver sports a unique serial number as well. The magazine release and selector switch are ambidextrous, and the bolt release is functional making it ideal for players who are already familiar with the M4 manipulation. Not only is the stock retractable it is side folding and has an adjustable cheek rest. Unlike the Classic Army the wires are not exposed when the stock is folded.
The most drastic changes have been made to the upper receiver. The delta ring has been removed bridge the traditional gap between the hand guard and the upper receiver. An integrated and uninterrupted rail runs along the top of the receiver giving the user plenty of room to mount optics and night vision equipment. In addition, there is a rail on the underside of the hand guard and two removable rails for each side of the hand guard that enable the user to mount accessories like a flashlight or vertical grip.
The SCAR-H is the 7.62mm variation of the SCAR series. A gun like this is a true asset to any squad, especial for their snipers. The model uses a SCAR-H spesific magazine that can accomodate 500 BBs.
The model comes with removable, flip up sights that can be used with any scope accessory. The CQC variation is equipped with a short barrel and a QD silencer style flash hider.
The model uses a reinforced Version 2 Gearbox with High Strength Steel gears that run on 8mm Steel Bushings. To reduce spring tension, the model utilizes a steel ball-bearing spring guide. The piston is polycarbonate to reduce weight but keep the stregth on the desirable level. The model uses a mini type battery that can be stored in the stock.
The Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR) is a modular rifle made by FN Herstal (FNH) for the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) to satisfy the requirements of the SCAR competition. This family of rifles consist of two main types. The SCAR-L, for "light", is chambered in the 5.56?45mm NATO cartridge and the SCAR-H, for "heavy", fires 7.62?51mm NATO. Both are available in Long Barrel and Close Quarters Combat variants.
