Umarex's GBB HK416 is licensed by the German arms maker, Heckler and Koch and bears real steel markings. These include every little detail of the real deal ones, like the manufacturer, the quality controls and the shooting mode indications.
The HK416C represents the most compact member of the family. The barrel is cut down to 9 inches with a 7 inches free float rail system.
This Umarex 416 benefits from a full-metal construction, which makes it super solid. Especially the aluminum outer barrel, which has been CNC-machined to ensure a high quality construction throughout.
The railed handguard follows closely to the real steel equivalent, being embedded into the upper receiver. It also features a one-screw fix/take down.
It's the little details which count and this Umarex gun has plenty. Such as the authentic looking gas piston system and the cosmetic bolt plate, which is able to lock when pulling the cocking handle and can be returned into position by pressing the bolt release button. The selector lever, mag catch and bolt release are all made of steel.
The 416C bears a very interesting design charachteristic and that's the stock. It resembles more of a SMG stock which retracts and offers an extremely low profile.
Both front and rear sights are removable and can be folded down when the user chooses to use any optics with his carbine.
The only non-metal part of the gun is the pistol grip which is made from reinforced polymer. The pistol grip is designed by HK and made more ergonomically to fit the hand. The stock bears a polymer butt plate to make using it more comfortable.
The user will definetelly be surprised by the realistic way that the model works. Insert a magazine in the magwell and rack the charging handle to load the first BB. With every pull of the trigger, the slide moves back and forth causing a mayhem both from the BBs leaving the barrel and from the heavy recoil it offers.
When empty, the slide locks to the rear. By inserting a fresh magazine, push the bolt release catch and the bolt flies home and the gun is ready to shoot again.
The model is compatible with VFC/SOCOM Gear M4 gas magazines.
The HK416 is a model built on the design of the M4 carbine, but with major modifications in order to participate on a US Army competition about the M4's replacement. The external look of the 416 is close to the M4 carbine but the internals bear upgrades, most notably a new gas operating system from the Heckler & Koch G36. Customers have the option of purchasing a new upper receiver, buffer and drive spring to refurbish M4s or buying a completely new and complete HK416.
