The Walther P99 was introduced in 1997 and achieved instant stardom as the new weapon of MI6’s secret agent James Bond of which it has been ever since.
The P99 was highly advanced for its time with complex ergonomics incorporated into its polymer frame which is still argued to be one of the most comfortable grips of any production pistol. It also featured such things as a loaded chamber indicator, decocker and firing pin indicator.
Umarex’s spring powered airsoft replica of the P99 is officially licensed by Carl Walther of Germany and bears authentic trademarks. You’ll find this pistol has surprisingly good detail throughout with Walther trademarks on its slide, breach, grip and the magazines base plate.
This model features a functional slide lock and even a working firing pin indicator. The indicator protrudes from the rear of the slide to show when the pistol is cocked just like the real thing!
This model features an extended ambidextrous magazine release which is integrated into the pistols trigger guard for easy operation by either left or right handed shooters.
It featured an underbarrel Picatinny rail to install an optional laser or flashlight.
The magazine has a 12 BB capacity, but it also contains a 100 BB reservoir readily available for immidate reload.
With a fixed hop-up system and respectable power the Umarex P99 is great for an afternoon of plinking targets either inside or outside. The .2g BB is recommended for best accuracy when shooting outdoors.
