The feel of this rifle is absolutely fantastic. Apart from the stock and upper receiver nearly all of this gun is metal. Made by Cybergun this has a black tactical stock and RIS rail up front for red dot scopes. This gun is a true heavy weight and not for the faint hearted at 3960g , even the full steel cocking handle makes a reasuring clunk to simulate the real action. Please cock slowly it is only for imitation. Metal parts include: front end including outer barrel and muzzle assembly, bolt, rear sight assembly, sling hooks, selector switch, trigger, gear box, removable lower trigger assembly and magazine. This is rated at upto 330 FPS. These also come with a battery and charger!

The M14 rifle, formally the United States Rifle, Caliber 7.62 mm, M14, is an American selective fire automatic rifle firing 7.62x51mm NATO (.308 inch) ammunition. It was the standard issue US rifle from 1959 to 1970. The M14 was used for US Army and Marine Corps basic and advanced individual training, and was the standard issue infantry rifle in CONUS, Europe, and South Korea, until replaced by the M16 rifle in 1970. It remains in limited front line service with the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard, and remains in use as a ceremonial weapon. The M14 also provides the basis for the M21 and M25 sniper rifles. It was the last so-called battle rifle (a term applied to weapons firing full-power rifle ammunition) issued in quantity to U.S. troops. These SOC rifles are the most modern variations of the M14 family.
The M1A SOCOM is a civilian model semi-auto M14 with a 16 inch barrel made available to the public in the US. It is the replica of this that Airsoft emulates with its own SOCOM equivalents even though in Airsoft our SOCOM weapons maintain full M14 status as they are the same select fire automative weapons albeit AEG representations.
