Let me introduce O.W.L.S. Airsoft Team from Serbia...
Airsoft team O.W.L.S. was formed in september of 2011. in Belgrade,Serbia,by two members,codenamed Mexico and Valhalla.During the last year,the team received a lot of support from it's sister-teams (Easy Company, B.R.A.T. and The Iron regiment) ,grew at a fast rate and now has twelve active members. The name,O.W.L.S.,which stands for „On Water,Land and Sky“,was derived from the name of the famous American elite units,known as Navy SEAL's. (SEa Air and Land).
The team symbol represents the rise and fall of Serbia.The Order of the Dragon and it's symbol,showing a dragon folding around a cross,represents the fall of Serbian Empire,while the so called Takovo cross represents Serbia's rise in the beginning of the XIX century.The team motto is „Vivere militare est“ („to live is to fight“).The team flag was in a „low-vis“ manner,while it's layout was inspired by the British royal flag,thus containing four quadrants,with the upper left showing the team symbol,the upper right and bottom left showing the serbian cross,made out of four firesteels, representing the Serbian motto „Only unity saves the Serbs“.The bottom right quadrant contains the coat of arms of the city of Belgrade, where the team was formed and based.
At the moment,the team is in a process of reorganization and procurement of new equipment and uniforms.MARPAT uniforms,combined with CB colored vests, boots, gloves and caps, is the new official team layout, with a distinctive and unique,yet affordable elements.For training purposes,the team uses ex-Yugoslav M-93, US and British DPM woodland uniforms and vests.
Team arsenal is composed mostly of replicas of western-made firearms,having two H&K MP-5's, three M-4's, two Steyr AUG's,one SCAR-H,one H&K G-36.In addition to those,the team also possesses several AK-74 replicas,and several pistol replicas.This equipment diversity allows the team to participate in most events with designated layout,as it has both western and eastern made „gear“.
The team is divided into three squads,codenamed Mexico,Odin and Cartel,with three assignements-left flank,center and right flank.Each squad is made of three members and one squad leader. Although the team has two founding leaders,and two officers,it maintains a policy of good member cooperation and communication in which every member can make a suggestion or a complaint and the decision or a solution will be formed by the majority of other member's votes.
Last year,the team acquired it's very first and own course to train,play but also make big events on.A 27 hectares big, deserted warehouse complex located in the outskirts of Belgrade proved to be an excellent location.Having both urban and forsted areas,and a unique touch of a scary,deserted place,the course was nicknamed „Pripyat“.Along with the course adaptations,the team is also working on it's own team vehicle - an ex-army Fiat Campagnola 1107,which is beign modified so that it can take and accompany it's team to a n airsoft battle,anytime and anywhere.
