Hello, my dear Greek friends-airsofters.
I represent russian airsoft team SOTA http://sota-team.ru/
We play airsoft for four years. Three of them we reenact Greek raiders of 1st Raider/Paratrooper Brigade of Second Army Corps

And we find rather difficult to find modern photos of these cool guys. Few ones that we have could not give us complete info on gear that is usual for this unit. All others are from 80-90s.

By now we use standart Greek lizard camo with jungle hats, LBV vests in olive drab colour, and one day assault backpacks (that's core items, not mentioning gloves, neck covers, magazine dump pouches, canteens, M9 bayonet replicas etc.)
Will you please help us with info on items that's common for Raider Forces (Δυνάμεις Kαταδρομών as Wikipedia says)?

The choise was not easy. Main reasons for reenacting a unit of Hellenic Army were:
1. Siutable for our forests. Camo works its best to conceal Rus-Hellas =)
2. Not hard to find nor expensive.
3. We became first greek team in Russia.
By the way I know the topicstarter (Kortes). He plays airsoft in Samara. Some kind of Hellas Police or something.
Also we have friends in Pskov. Guys there reenact Moravas and are not bad at it.

Actually we have OD TLBV's.  And now they come hard to find in Saint-Petersbourg (my native city). So the time has come for my team to decide whether we'll continue to use TLBVs or take something that is more common to Hellenic SF.   
That's why I'm asking for advice. What webbing, vests or chestrigs use Raiders?  If there a couple of them, i'd like to hear about ones with pistol belt, because canteens are much more convinient than camelbags for utility use for me.

Dear friends welcome
Looking at your pic's i can see that there are very few thinks that i can add.
First of all the Greek SF have adopt - in limited numbers - the Swedish Stridsväst 2000 vest. It is used mostly by the Amphibious Raiders but there are some photos with Mountain Raiders using this piece of gear.
They are using pouches in OD but some times u can see pouches colored in geek lizzard camo, probably from this company: http://pentagon.com.gr/
In some operations they are using one - piece Nomex flight suits instead of the standart uniform. For gloves the most common is the Nomex pilot gloves.
For pistols they use always OD hip holster for the Glock's and for the M 1911.

Another one question. Can you advice where to buy greek lizard camo vests and trousers?
Those we buy at allaboutarmy ("Armymania" and "Chris" production) are of really shitty quality. Rips and looses its colour fast.  Maybe there is some brand we can buy that costs more, but provides better quality?
The Rip-Stop versions were somewhat better, but thet are not in sale now.

Look for a company called Pentagon......their quality is much better, and you can find vests and pouches in Greek Lizard pattern. I think this shop is a pentagon distributor so, they have quite a collection of pouches and vests.

Go to www.greekairsoft.com and use the eshop or the live support feature to talk to the people from the shop. Some of them are knowledgeable when it comes to tactical nylon.....

Hi there,

Militaryphotos is your safest bet when it comes to updated photos as mentioned above. Commandos in Greece more or less use what they are issued. They don't belong to the category "They are SF they can wear whatever they want...". They might be able to usesome pieces of gear that they privately purchase, but it's mostly NCOs and COs who are free to do so.

Tactical nylon wise, they use the TLBV in Grrek Lizzard pattern with a LC belt on which they carry pouches which resemble the PLCE canteena and GP ones. For those pouches, Pentagon is the way to go. Some of them used the Swedish vests, but there is no way you can find them in the market...
